I’m renowned for: Drinking 17 stubbies on a bus trip from Townsville to Laguna Quays. You can imagine how well I played golf that day.
Only a local would know: I’m the father of triplets, which is not the reason I drank 17 stubbies.
My most memorable holiday was: A toss-up between Disney, Florida and Whistler, Canada.
Right now I wish I was: Exactly where I am. At 50, I stopped wishing my life away and I try hard not to look in the rear view mirror. Make the absolute most of the moment you have now and be present.
My favourite day is: Christmas Day. We are extremely fortunate that Christmas for us is full of only fabulous memories. Our eldest daughter starts celebrating at the beginning of November.
The biggest influence in my life was/is: Historically–Thomas Jefferson. Present day–John Howard. Business–Adrian Gabrielli. Morally–my parents but all these pale compared to the influence of my wife, Sonya.
The funniest thing that ever happened to me was: Being told everyone was wearing shorts to a wedding over at Maggie and discovering I was the only one who did. I was then unable to find a seat in the church after walking to the very front. The only seat left was the stool next to the organist so I became his page turner.
Someone famous I met was: John Howard (twice).
My motto is: In all things important to you – everything matters, nothing is neutral.
