Seen: Philippines Festival

Every year, the Filipino Australian Association of North Queensland showcases the culture and heritage of the Philippines through a festival. A festival of famous foods of the Philippines; a festival of Philippines’ dance, song and musical instruments. This year we also crowned both Little Miss Philippines and Miss Philippines of North Queensland.

How come there is that common mistakes of omitting the S In the name of our country PHILIPPINES? And making the spelling of our country becoming descriptive adjective like Philippine dance, song and musical instruments as an example. It should always be spelt PHILIPPINES with the S. If using it as a descriptive adjective…still you need to spell it PHILIPPINES’ dance, song and musical instruments as an example.

Thanks for making us aware of our mistake. We’ve taken that onboard and we will endeavour not to do it again. All the best, DUO Magazine.
